Our School

About Our School

Christel House High School students are required to work towards an Academic Honors or Technical Honors Diploma, which requires our students to earn more credits than they would at a traditional high school. This requirement also means students must have a "C" or better in all of their classes and graduate with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better. Christel House High School (CHHS) is a tuition-free IPS Innovation school serving grades 9-12. We are a college preparatory high school, where 100% of our graduates earn an acceptance to a four-year college or university. We offer satellite bus stops, however, our transportation is limited as some of our buses are already at capacity. CHHS partners with University of Indianapolis to provide dual credit courses. Students that participate in these courses graduate high school having already earned college credits. UIndy also provides scholarships to students who graduate with the Academic Honors or Technical Honors Diploma, and have taken, and passed, two UIndy dual credit courses, and are eligible US Citizens or eligible residents. Any tuition that isn't covered by a student's Pell Grant or 21st Century Scholarship will be covered by the UIndy scholarship! Our support for students doesn't end once they graduate. The College and Careers program mentors all graduates by supplying the resources and support they need to obtain a post-secondary education and/or find meaningful employment. For up to five years after students graduate, our College and Careers Administrator and Coaches check in with graduates, and are the people they can contact for help with questions and concerns about college, career opportunities, professional development, or personal issues. In order for a student to transfer into Christel House High School, the student and family must meet with our Principal and College Transition Counselor to talk about requirements and expectations of Christel House students and to review the student's transcript. Depending on their credits, students may have to attend tutoring, and may need to take classes that are out of their current grade cohort.
