Welcome to Manual! For over 100 years, Emmerich Manual High School has served students in Indianapolis. Located on a beautiful campus just south of downtown Indianapolis near Garfield Park, we have a proud history and one of the biggest alumni networks in the country. Starting the 2020-2021 school year, Manual will be a building serving students in grades 10-12 as an innovation school with IPS and operated by Christel House. Manual will provide a caring environment that engages students in meaningful work, teaching not just academics but also the social skills necessary for our students to thrive. Through education, we help foster community and connectedness between diverse families in our city and beyond. We believe that students learn best when considered as whole, complicated people, with rich intellectual and emotional lives. Educating them means moving beyond classroom lessons and engaging students in creative ways. It means helping empower students to become self-sufficient. We commit to providing a safe and engaging environment that welcomes all students. We believe in putting students first and empowering students to be prepared for their college, their career and their life. The memories created while a student at Manual will last forever!
